Sainsbury’s store and much more

The new Sainsbury’s store in Bishops Waltham is now open. We have been selected as their food donation partner and look forward to working with them.

There is a new dedicated Donation Box at the store which will help us a great deal as people may leave their food donations there during opening hours.
We have also been given a significant donation by the construction company who have been carrying out the refurbishment. Thank you, Williams Southern Construction.
Other donations have been received from a number of organisations including the National Education Union who were keen to support our efforts to feed children during these difficult times.

Christmas 2020

Our past experience shows that the number of people referred to us increases rapidly as we approach Christmas. It is always nice to receive donations of Christmassy food but much of it has a short shelf life and there are only so many Christmas puddings that we can send out to people!
The increase in demand can mean that we run out of some of the basics that we ask for all year, so we would like to ask that any donations this Christmas are for essential food products. You can find a list of these on the Donate page of our website. We do send out a weekly update of our more urgent needs.

The youth hall

We remain concerned about our future as at some stage, possibly early next year, we expect to hear that planning has been granted for the redevelopment of the site.
Our current location is absolutely perfect for what we do, and we realise that any new location will require some adjustment to the way in which we work.

The problem remains that we have not been able to identify anywhere suitable within Bishops Waltham.  If you have any thoughts or ideas on a new home for the food bank please do get in touch
