Wickham is go!

Monday June 7th was our first donation day at Wickham, and we were thrilled to receive so many gifts of food.

We now have the use of three large storage cupboards, similar to the one you can see in the background, which will make our lives so much easier.

We have had a new path built to improve access to the Wickham Room where our food cupboards are.  Thanks to Chris Hoare for his hard work in getting this done.

This path will enable us to safely move food in and out and will also be the entrance for volunteers and visitors.  We are hopeful that we will soon be able to go back to the way we were, having time for tea and a chat when people come to collect their food parcels.

Our new hours will be slightly different.

On Mondays we will be open between 10 and noon to receive donations.  Splitting donations from food parcel preparation will ease the pressure of trying to everything all at once.

On Tuesdays we will be open from 10am to 2pm and will be concentrating on putting together food parcels for individuals and families.  Where possible we ask people to come to us to collect their food but can provide home delivery where it is necessary.  We will, of course still accept donations on a Tuesday.

Local food donation points are now available at Sainsbury’s and the Jubilee Hall in Bishops Waltham, the Co-op and the Community Centre in Wickham and M&S in Whiteley.

The new days and time come into effect from Monday June 21st although there will be someone at the Bishops Waltham Youth Hall on Tuesday 29th just to make sure no one misses out.
